As a result of the recent housing boom, developers went from building houses to entire neighborhoods, general contractors began almost exclusively doing full-home remodels, handymen started taking on small to midsize renovation projects and anyone with access to a tool-shed or a home improvement store began calling themselves a handyman.
Combining this and other factors, finding someone who was competent, qualified and available for smaller home repairs became a daunting task. This was a problem we knew we could help solve so we chose to go against the flow and instead tighten our scope of work in order to help as many people as possible.
The purpose of our business is simple: provide home-owners and business-owners with a reliable, trustworthy handyman service to take the stress out of repair and maintenance projects.
Hobbies: Skiing & Golf
Originally from Rockaway Beach, New York, Lucas grew up on the beach in the Big Apple. While he always had dreams of moving west, life would first take him east to the University of Rhode Island to complete degrees in German and Mechanical Engineering. After graduation, and further east still, he moved to Germany to work in the corporate world of the automotive industry. After discovering life in the office wasn’t for him, he returned to join the FDNY some years later and landed in the Lower East Side with TL-18. Like many others he took the opportunity during quarantine to reevaluate his trajectory and made the decision to move to Salt Lake City. Shortly thereafter the idea to start a handyman service was born and Floating Goat Handyman came to life.
